As Lt. Gen. Mary Legere knows, the ability to handle challenges in life comes in handy.

Many students wish to graduate at the top of their classes and earn a place on the honor roll. However, such distinction requires dedication and an iron will to always be prepared. There is no sure-fire formula for academic success, but advisors have some excellent ideas about what students can do to improve the odds. One of the most important is to live in the academic moment. Focus on assignments for their intrinsic learning value. The grades, and the all-important grade point average, will naturally follow.
