Lt. Gen. Mary Legere – Expanding the Army’s Human, Cyber, Open Source and Processing Exploitation and Dissemination Capabilities

As the Senior Intelligence Officer in the US Army, Lt. Gen. Mary Legere has significantly expanded the Army’s multi-discipline intelligence capabilities.


During her tenure as the Army G2, in order to building additional Intelligence formations to support Army operations around the globe, Legere has increased investment to the Army’s counter intelligence and human intelligence forces, ensured steady progress in the build out of the Army’s cyber force, and overseen the expansion and upgrade of the Army’s medium altitude Aerial ISR fleet, introducing new platforms and significant improvements in sensor and processing, exploitation and dissemination capacity.

In addition, LTG Mary Legere has driven the Army’s modernization of its intelligence information management enterprise and directed the rapid expansion of open source intelligence capabilities to ensure Army Commanders can leverage the capabilities of the greater intelligence Community and provide Army forces with the intelligence required to enable the best decisions.
